The Prince George Spruce Kings wrapped up their three-game road trip with a 4-3 win against the Surrey Eagles Saturday.

The Kings scored twice in both the first and second periods and despite a pair of second-period goals by the Eagles, hung on for the victory.

The Kings improved to 23-20-0-5 and maintained third place in the B.C. Hockey League's Mainland Division with 51 points.

The Eagles fall to 8-37-0-3 and are in last place in the division.

Saturday in Surrey, Kings captain Chad Staley opened the scoring at the 6:24 mark of the first period. Tyler Andrews replied for Surrey but Cole Todd retained Prince George's lead at the 19:29 mark.

Viktor Dombrovski's power play tally and Nick Guerra goal gave Prince George a three-goal cushion early in the second period.

Spencer Unger and Ben Vikich (power play) tallied in a five-minute span to narrow the Kings' lead but couldn't score the equalizer.

The Eagles outshot the Kings 26-22 as Prince George netminder Jesse Jenks earned his 14th between the pipes.

The game was a disciplined affair with only eight minor penalties between the two teams. Surrey was one-for-two on the power play, while Prince George was one-for-five.

Kings forward Braiden Epp was named the first star of the game.

The Kings host the 19-24-1-4 Coquitlam Express this Friday and Saturday in a two-game series at the Coliseum (7 p.m.)
