The Coquitlam Express ended the Prince George Spruce Kings post-season Tuesday night with a 2-1 victory.
Bo Piepers goal half-way through the second period turned out to be the winner for the Express as they won the BCHL best-of-seven series 4-2.
The Kings, trailing 3-2 in the series and facing elimination in the Mainland Division semifinal, couldnt score the equalizer in Game 6 in Coquitlam to send the game into overtime.
Prince George forced the return to Coquitlam after a thrilling 3-2 win in double overtime during Game 5 Monday in Prince George.
On Tuesday in Coquitlam, the Kings thought they had the tying goal with 10 minutes left in the third period on a goal-mouth scramble, but it was disallowed after it was ruled it was gloved in.
Trailing 1-0 in the first period, Coquitlam forward Ryan Rosenthal scored the equalizer with five minutes.
The Spruce Kings struck first when forward Justin Rai snapped a shot past Express netminder Gordie Defiel on a three-on-one with Cole Todd and Christian Weidhauer.
It was Rais fourth goal of the playoffs.
The Express outshot Prince George 37-32 as the Kings went 0-6 on the power play.
Coquitlam was 0-3 with the man-advantage.
Tuesday was the last junior game for Kings netminder Alex Murray, defenceman Mitch Eden, and forwards Sean Landrey, Weidhauer and captain Bryant Christian.
Langley Rivermen beat the Surrey Eagles 4-1 in Game 6 of the other Mainland Division semifinal Tuesday.
The Rivermen and Coquitlam will now face off Friday in Game 1 of the Mainland Division final.
