Kieta quick in Boston Marathon

Kieta was among a group of seven Prince George runners who paced themselves over the 42.2-kilometre course under cool and wet conditions in the 119th annual race.

Kieta, 25, clocked two hours, 59:03 minutes in the female 18-34 age group to finish 113th overall in her division.

Paige Howat, 40, crossed the line in 3:27:36 in the female 40-44 age group, good for 236th overall.

Tanya Carter, 47, posted a time of 3:58:54 in the female 45-49 division, while Annie Horning, 50, crossed the line in 4:38:39 in the female 50-54 age group. Laurie Hill, 50, clocked 4:45:29 in the female 50-54 age group.

Tim Rowe, 63, posted a time of 3:55:53 in the male 60-64 age group, while Michael Wells, 65, crossed the line in 4:27:16 in the male 65-69 age category.

Jacqui Pettersen, 43, did not start Monday's race.

Lelisa Desisa of Ethiopia was the top male and overall winner of the marathon, clocking 2:09:17. Caroline Rotich of Kenya was the top female, crossing the line at 2:24:55.
