Brandon Deschamps carried the UBC Thunderbirds to their second win of the season Saturday in CIS football action.
The former Kelly Road secondary school running back rumbled to two touchdowns and 230 yards running as the Thunderbirds earned a 37-27 road win in Regina against the Rams. Deschamps had 35 carries for an average of 6.6 yards per attempt, wearing down the Rams' defence and keeping their offence off the field.
Both of Deschamps touchdowns came in the fourth quarter and propelled the T-birds into the lead with the second one putting them ahead for good. After a game-high 29-yard run, Deschamps plunged one yard into the end zone for the winning score.
With the win the T-birds are 2-2 in the Canada West season, while the Rams fell to 1-3.
Next up for Deschamps and the T-birds are the 3-1 Saskatchewan Huskies.
