The Duchess Park Condors came close to running the table at the junior boys volleyball provincial championship in Kelowna.
They won six of seven matches and came home to Prince George as bronze medalists.
Duchess Park swept Abbotsford in two straight sets, winning 25-16, 25-12 to claim bronze Saturday morning, right after the Condors lost their semifinal match 2-0 (25-21, 25-20) to Richmond Christian.
Langley Christian took the gold-medal match over Richmond, winning 3-0
(25-21, 25-20, 25-15).
In other Prince George results, the College Heights Cougars placed 15th after losing their final placement match 2-1 (25-15, 16-25, 15-70 to Mt. Boucherie.
The D.P. Todd Trojans ended up 18th out of 24 teams.
Senior provincial tournaments start this week.
In the girls division, the Duchess Park Condors and College Heights Cougars are seeded No.1 and No. 2 respectively in the triple-A girls tournament in Vernon.
The Cedars Christian Eagles are ranked second behind Immaculata of Kelowna at the single-A tournament in South Slocan, while the D.P. Todd Trojans have the 15th seed at the double-A finals in Winfield.
All three girls tournaments start Thursday.
At the senior boys double-A provincial championship in Langley, the zone-champion College Heights Cougars are seeded fifth, while the D.P. Todd Trojans are ranked 10th.
In the triple-A tournament, the North Central zone-champion North Peace Ooks are seeded 19th, just ahead of the 20th-seeded Prince George Polars.
The boys tournaments start Wednesday.
