Prince George judo athletes were masters of the mat at the B.C. Winter Games Zone 8 playdowns on the weekend.
During the meet, held Saturday at the Northern Sport Centre, seven local judokas topped their weight categories. Winners were: Grace Northrop (Hart Judo Academy, female under-52-kilograms); Devin White (North Capital Judo Club, under-46kg); Ryan Russell (Prince George Judo Club, under-50kg); Branden Edwards, PGJC, under-55kg); Kyle Wilkinson (PGJC, under-60kg); Brayden Tourand (HJA, under-66kg); and Gabe Edwards (PGJC, under-73kg).
The tournament was for athletes north of 100 Mile House.
The 2014 B.C. Winter Games are Feb. 20-23 in Mission.
