Jr. golfer Jorgensen shoots sixth in B.C.

The summer of 2011 is shaping up to be a memorable one for Kirstin Jorgensen of Prince George -- for all the right reasons.

The 16-year-old Prince George Golf and Curling Club member posted a top-10 finish this week at the MJT Odlum Brown Classic PGA of B.C. junior golf championship in Cloverdale.

Jorgensen carded rounds of 86, 81 and 85 to finish sixth overall with a three-round 252 total on the par 72 course at Northview Goilf and Country Club.

Twelve-year-old Muni He of Pitt Meadows set the pace, winning the tournament with a 77-69-72--218 total. The tournament wrapped up Wednesday.

Callum Robinson of Langley won the boys 17-and-older title with a 67-73-76--216 score. His five-under 67 on Monday was the lowest score in the entire tournament.

Henry Lee of Coquitlam (72-71-73--216) and Oscar Baek of Coquitlam (70=72-69--211) won the respective 13-and-under boys and 14-15-year-old boys titles.
