Fallon Jones sure likes competing at home.
The 10-year-old from Prince George won the junior girls (10-and-under) overall high point title after competing at the 13th annual Tim Hortons B.C. Little Britches Rodeo at Nukko Lake on the weekend.
She won the same title a year ago as a nine-year-old.
Riding her quarter-horse Seeker, Jones posted seven top-10 scores at the rodeo that was organized by the Lakes Community Horse Club.
More than 84 competitors traveled to Prince George from as far away as Courtenay to Dawson Creek.
On the first day of competition, Jones was third in the barrels, eighth in pole bending, fourth in goat tail tying and dummy roping. On Sunday, she was third in pole bending, fourth in goat tail tying and sixth in dummy roping.
Due to support from the Prince George and Nukko Lake riding communities, Jones won a saddle for her efforts, as did another Prince George cowgirl, Payden Hinton, who won the senior girls (15-and-under) high point title.
Hinton paced herself to five top-10 finishes over two days of competition.
On Saturday, she won the barrels and finished in eighth place in pole bending and seventh in goat tying. She was fourth going around the barrels on Sunday and was fifth in goat tying.
Allaina Proctor of Prince George also had a successful weekend, with a pair of second- and seventh-place finishes in the senior girls barrels. As well, she was fourth and fifth respectively in pole bending.
Cara Houchen wrapped up a sixth-place finish in senior girls goat tying on Sunday, while Genevieve Winters was seventh in senior girls pole bending on Sunday.
Clay Thiessen was eighth in chute dogging on Saturday and followed that up with a fifth-place finish in the same event on Sunday.
