Johnston pedals to podium in Kelowna

Styles Johnston was blazing-hot at the Firestorm Nationals. At the BMX meet, held on the weekend in Kelowna, Johnston powered to victories in both of his main event races. His second win came despite the fact he had moved up into the expert class.

At the BMX meet, held on the weekend in Kelowna, Johnston powered to victories in both of his main event races. His second win came despite the fact he had moved up into the expert class.

During the event, four other Prince George riders also wheeled to first-place results. Winners were Mackenzie Crear, Marcel Vonah, Wade Foreman and Brady Anderson.

Prince George BMX will host races on the July 11-13 weekend and will welcome the Northern Lights Nationals Aug. 15-17. More than 1,200 riders from B.C. and the western United States are expected to compete in the national races.

The Prince George BMX track is located in Carrie Jane Gray Park.
