Prince George Spruce Kings goaltender Jesse Jenks gave another winning performance in the Canada West nets.

Tuesday in Yarmouth, N.S., Jenks ran his record to 2-0 at the World Junior A Hockey Challenge. The 18-year-old stopper was nearly unbeatable in a 4-1 Canada West victory against the Czech Republic.

In the game, Jenks faced 30 shots and gave up just the one goal, a power-play tally by Adam Zboril at 14:58 of the third period. That goal brought the score to 3-1 for Canada West, which answered back moments later on a marker by Spruce Grove Saints player Cameron Hughes.

Canada West led 1-0 after two periods. The other Canada West goals were courtesy of Jeff Wight of the Merritt Centennials, Dylan Hollman of the Saints and Demico Hannoun of the Vernon Vipers.

Jenks was also the winning goaltender when Canada West beat Switzerland 4-3 on Monday.

With the 2-0 record, Canada West won its pool and earned a bye to Friday's playoff semifinals. Its opponent has not yet been determined.

Teams in the other pool are Canada East, Russia and the United States.
