Snowboard-cross competitors at the 2015 Canada Winter Games will be treated to a course designed by one of the best in the world.
Jeff Ihaksi, a resident of Whistler, has agreed to design and build the snowboard-cross track that will be used during the Games. He'll work his snow and ice magic at Tabor Mountain, located east of Prince George.
Ihaksi designed the course for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. During his 15-year career, he has also put his skills to work for World Cup and other international events. Most recently, he constructed a course at Powder King Ski Resort that was used as training ground for Canadian, Australian, Brazilian and Russian national teams.
Ihaksi will be at Tabor Mountain today to do some prep work for his Canada Winter Games assignment.
