Those who are braving the cold to compete in the 27th annual Prince George Iceman on Sunday can pick up their race packages today, between 5 and 7 p.m. at the Civic Centre.
A story in the Feb. 7 Citizen had incorrect information.
Cold weather may force the cancellation of the event, but organizers won't make that call until race morning Sunday.
The race cannot proceed if it is colder than -20 C by the time of the race start.
Currently, the overnight low for Sunday is forecast for a chilly -26 C. The Sunday high is only expected to reach -17 C.
Chances are the "heat" of the day won't be felt in time for the 10 a.m. start at Otway Nordic Centre.
Only once before in the 26-year history of the race has the Iceman been cancelled. That was in 1996 due to cold weather when it was -28 C at race time.
Organizers are advising people to check the website pgiceman.ca or go to the Iceman Facebook or Twitter feeds for up-to-date info.
There are 540 competitors entered in this year's race, including 48 soloists and 103 teams.
Regardless if there is a race or not, the banquet at the Civic Centre will go ahead as planned with doors opening at 1:30 p.m.
