High school gymnasts converging on P.G.

For the first time in their history, the B.C. Provincial High School Gymnastics Championships are landing in Prince George. The championships, expected to draw 277 athletes from 73 schools, start Thursday and run through Saturday at PGSS.

For the first time in their history, the B.C. Provincial High School Gymnastics Championships are landing in Prince George.

The championships, expected to draw 277 athletes from 73 schools, start Thursday and run through Saturday at PGSS. Girls events will be held Thursday and Friday (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and the boys will get their turn to compete on Saturday (8 a.m. to noon).

Many of the local gymnasts who will attend provincials are members of the Prince George Gymnastics Club. Others, in preparation for the event, have been training for a few months at the club.

There is no admission charge for spectators.
