Gemma Hansen of Prince George came close again to the medal podium at the Canada Summer Games in Sherbrooke, Que.
On the last day of competition in the canoe/kayak event, the 15-year-old from Prince George teamed up with Brook Mclean of Kamloops, Yasmine Semeniuk of Maple Ridge and Danielle Caron of Nanaimo to finish fifth in the IC4 200-metre race on Thursday.
Earlier in the week, Hansen placed fifth in the A-final of K-4 500m event.
B.C. ranks fourth in the medal standings with 95, including 32 gold, 29 silver and 34 bronze.
Ontario is comfortably ahead with 192 medals with one day of competition left, followed by Quebec (143) and Alberta (102).
