When the Prince George Sports Hall of Fame inducts its newest members this spring, it will also present 12 local athletes with Youth Excellence awards.
The PGSHOF announced the youth winners on Tuesday. They are: Jadyn Arnett (five-pin bowling); Evan Bichon (snowboarding); Josiah Binnema (swimming); Hallie Drezet (volleyball); Hannah Esopenko (swimming); Ryan Gaiesky (track and field); Tristina Howse (wrestling); Lavanna Laass (judo); Tyrell Laing (basketball); Rylan Matters (football); Brogan O'Brien (hockey); and Meryeta O'Dine (snowboarding).
The PGSHOF induction banquet is April 30 at the Hart Community Centre. Inductees this year are Nino Fabbro (fastball coach and builder), Charlie Ghostkeeper (fastball/baseball coach and builder), Audrey Foster (baseball/hockey administrator) and Orv Claffey (pioneer athlete, hockey).
