A determined Prince George peewee Freightliner tier 2 Cougars hockey club powered their way to their fourth tournament title this season last weekend in Quesnel.

The peewee Cougars showed their team unity in compiling a 5-0 record at the seven-team tournament hosted by the Quesnel Thunder. Four straight wins in the preliminary round earned the Cougars the bye to the Sunday's final where they faced the Omineca All-stars. The Cougars hard work paid off when they were able to break open a 3-3 tie with a pair of third-period goals for the 5-3 win.

The win was the second time this season the Cougars edged the All-stars in a tournament final.

Omineca earned their berth in the final with a 6-5 win over the host Thunder in the Sunday morning semifinal. The Thunder finished third at their tournament.

Terrace ended the weekend in fourth place, while William's Lake was fifth and the Prince George peewee Scotia Bank tier 3 Cougars tied for sixth place with Kitimat.

The Cougars return to Quesnel on Saturday for a pair of league games with the Thunder.
