There was no quit in the Go Go Girls.
The local women's team -- formed by Robyn Kaplan, Cindy Hartford and Nicole Rishaug -- tackled the Sinister 7 ultra marathon race in Crowsnest Pass, Alta., last weekend and finished the 148-kilometre torture test in a time of 18 hours 33 minutes 39 seconds. The clocking gave Kaplan and company 10th place in a field of 30 women's teams.
The Go Go Girls finished one spot behind another Prince George team, Crazy Soles. But, Crazy Soles featured seven runners and posted a time of 18:33:32. Members were Sue Macdonald, Lisa Neukomm, Amy Hauk, Beva Kirk, Cheryl Moors, Aimee Bachand and Lynn Hodgson.
The winning time in the women's team category -- 15:42:42 -- was posted by Speedy Beavers, a seven-person unit from Calgary.
In the mixed team category of the Sinister 7, The Running Dead of Prince George claimed 32nd place out of 145 finishers. The Running Dead relied on the legs of Daniel Dubrule, Kelly Baker, Luke Veeken, Brittany Ringdahl, Tyler Ringdahl and Alyssa Cole and finished in 18:54:46. Ohio team Vertical Runner, with a time of 12:20:03, was the mixed winner.
