Relief showed on the Prince George Gnats faces after they obtained their first win of the rugby season.
The Gnats knocked off the Terrace Northmen 17-14 on Friday to improve their Division 3 record to 1-3 on the season. It was a dramatic victory as well. The Gnats trailed 14-12 with 30 seconds remaining in the game when they were able to get their third try of the game.
Gnats spokesperson and second row/prop Derrick Przysieny said a trio of newcomers helped the Gnats earn the victory. High school players Nicolas Szarka and Tyson Solmonson both contributed to the men's victory as did first-time player Jeff Wambugu.
Troy Mackenzie and Dennis McCarthy had the tries for the Gnats.
