Daniel Gibb has waited a long time to add to his puck collection.
And he couldn't have picked a better team to exploit Wednesday for the first goal of his WHL career. Too bad for the Prince George Cougars, Gibb's handful of bullets ran out early.
The Cats could have used a bit more firepower and lot more defence as they surrendered four goals in the third period and lost 6-3 to the Seattle Thunderbirds at CN Centre.
Former Cougar Prab Rai scored his 39th and 40th goals of the season and Colin Jacobs also fired a pair to keep the T-birds' faint playoff hopes alive. The win pulled Seattle (17-35-7-4) to within 17 points of the Kamloops Blazers, who lost 5-1 Wednesday in Edmonton. The Cougars, long since eliminated from playoff contention, dropped to 11-48-1-2.
