After struggling to earn wins all season, the Prince George Alison's Embroidery Gators were perfect last weekend to capture the title at their final hockey tournament of the season.

The atom-aged Gators produced a 4-0 record at a girls tournament in 100 Mile House, backed by three shutouts from Tessa Sturgeon. In the final, the Gators held off Williams Lake 1-0 to win the gold.

Other results in the tournament included a 4-0 victory over Lillooet, a 9-0 win over 100 Mile House and a 6-4 win over Williams Lake.

Atom teams consist of nine- and 10-year-old players. During the regular season, the Gators played in the Atom House 2 boys league, where they won only one game all season. The lone win was a big one as they handed the last undefeated boys team their first loss.

In addition to Sturgeon, the other Gators are Brooklyn Hutchings, Jordan Maloney, Brooklyn Hill, Stashia Telford, Sasha Schurack, Kelsey Dent, Samantha Heidt, Jade Wilson, Tashyla Teschuk, Cali Bryant and Cricket Colebank. The Gators were coached by Doug Sturgeon, Randall Heidt and Bobby Hutchings.
