Fury surrounds Fury

John Mehrassa, owner of the Prince George Fury, said he has not handed termination papers to his coaches.

John Mehrassa, owner of the Prince George Fury, said he has not handed termination papers to his coaches. He was, however, far from clear about the collective futures of head coach/player Sipho Sibiya and assistant coaches Brad Stewart and Sonny Pawar.

Mehrassa's ambiguous responses to coaching-related questions asked by The Citizen appear tied to the fact he's trying to find another investor to join him as a co-owner of the first-year Canadian Major Indoor Soccer League team.

During a Sunday doubleheader against the Edmonton Drillers, Mehrassa was behind his team's bench at CN Centre. Sibiya, Stewart and Pawar were not. Sibiya and Stewart's absences weren't a surprise because they were in Las Vegas, leading a Prince George Pro Touch Academy team at an international tournament. Pawar's absence was unexpected.
