There were 100 duffers out for the two day 2012 Glen Bryant Senior Men's Championship.
Dan Foster emerged victorious at the Prince George Golf and Curling Club after producing a one-under par 70 on Sunday to win the low gross score. Foster shot a 77 on the first day of competition for and overall total of 147.
The low net winner - with the golfer's handicap figured into his score - came up from Penticton to play. Dean Box should enjoy his drive home after a two-day net total of 132 (68, 64).
The tournament was grouped into five flights so golfers were paired based on their handicaps.
Bernie Henry of Prince George was the net winner of the fourth flight, shooting a combined 139 with his 19 handicap factored in. The 60 year old said he expected to come first.
"I've always been a winner," said Henry. "I'm always in the prizes."
Henry was proud of the birdie he produced on the par four eighth hole Sunday. It was the ninth time Henry participated in the senior men's tournament.
The fourth flight gross winner was Mike Martin with a 167 two-day total.
In the top flight it was George Rogers emerging with the top gross score of 147 and Jim Horswell taking the net prize with a 139.
The second flight gross winner was Roy Stewart with a 160 while John Power won the net with a 141. In the third flight it was Gerry Kole producing a 167 gross score and Norm Armstrong taking the top net with 137.
In the fifth flight Henry Duchscherer was the top gross golfer with a 178 and Dave Winkel shot a 140 net score.
The minimum age for entry into the senior men's event is 50.
The next event at the P.G. Golf and Curling Club is July 29 with the Mini Masters for golfers under 18 to try and win a green jacket. Both the low gross and low net winners will receive jackets in the tournament which is open to both boys and girls.
