Former Spruce King to play at SFU

Trent Murdoch, a member of last season's Prince George Spruce Kings, will continue his hockey career at Simon Fraser University this fall.

Murdoch, a forward who had four goals and 14 helpers for the Kings, will skate for the SFU Clan, two-time defending champions in the B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League.

"I've heard nothing but good things about Simon Fraser University and the hockey program, and the back-to-back championships speaks for itself," Murdoch said. "My goal is to become an immediate impact player by contributing a solid two-way game and by bringing some playmaking and scoring."

Former Kings blueliner Derek Henderson will also be a rookie member of the Clan this coming season.
