Fort St. James forward Dallas Goodwin celebrated a championship Sunday after his Flyers defeated the Canucks in the final game of the 2013 male under-16 B.C. Cup, earning a 4-3 shootout win at the Shaw Centre in Salmon Arm.
Jared Stevens of Prince George played defence for the Canucks at the tournament. Both the Flyers and Canucks finished the round robin with 2-1 records and were seeded first in their respective pools.
Other Prince George players at the camp were James Gordon (Team Wild), Darren Hards (Team Avalanche) and Mitchell Williams (Team Bruins).
The B.C. Cup began Thursday with several Prince George players invited to participate. The next stage of the selection process is the provincial camp, July 10-14 in Nanaimo. Players will know in two weeks if they're moving on to the provincial camp.
