If you like fishing and the tasty rewards it can bring to the supper table, the Polar Coachman Fly Fishing Club has a can't-miss event planned.

The club is hosting an open house tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at its headquarters at the Spruce City Wildlife Association clubhouse on the banks of the Nechako River at 1348 River Rd.

Admission is free, but for the right price regional experts will share their secrets of the best places to go to land those five-pounders. Club members will show their technique in casting clinics, knot-tying demonstrations and insect identification that will help fly fishermen of all abilities.

Staff from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans will also be in attendance, as will Sean Simmons, publisher of The Anglers Atlas. Club members will also be parting with their excess fishing gear in a garage sale, which promises good deals for all who attend.

The Polar Coachman club is always seeking new members. For more information call Erich Franz, 250-962-6342 or go to the website of club president Danie Erasmus - princegeorgeflyfisher.com.
