Field of dreams

DaSilva taking lacrosse to new heights

Miguel DaSilva has seen his own future as an athlete and it just might involve swinging a long-pole lacrosse stick south of the border.

The 15-year-old from Prince George is aware of the opportunities that could be ahead of him in the United States playing college field lacrosse as a defenceman and has made it his goal to net an NCAA scholarship.

"I'd like to play for a university and the coaches talk about what scouts look for, like intensity," said DaSilva. "They don't care if you drop the ball, they'll pick a real intense guy over a guy who has skill but no intensity."
