Prince George Cougars forward Todd Fiddler has earned WHL Player of the Month honours for his stellar play in January.

The 20-year-old forward from Meadow Lake, Sask., tallied 16 goals and added 13 assists for 29 points in 14 games in January.

Five of Fiddler's 16 goals came on the power play, while two were scored short-handed. He also had three separate hat tricks and three separate five-point games.

Fiddler joined the Cougars in November as part of a trade with the Moose Jaw Warriors. Since then, he has been an offensive force, scoring 30 goals and 29 assists for 59 points in 35 games.

"Todd has been a huge addition to our team," said Cougars coach Mark Holick. "Since he arrived, he has helped our offence, our power play, and has fit in really well with the rest of the team in our dressing room."

In 263 career games (Prince George, Moose Jaw, Spokane, Prince Albert, Medicine Hat),

Fiddler has 109 goals and 103 assists.

The Cougars posted a 4-2 record during their road trip through Saskatchewan. They'll go for five-straight wins Friday night at CN Centre when they play the Red Deer Rebels.
