The Cougars swept the Kootenay Wildcats on the road in Nelson with scores of 4-1 Sunday, 5-1 Saturday and 9-2 Friday to improve to 24-3 and tying a B.C. Hockey Female Major League record in the process.

They also set the league record for scoring the most goals in a season with 119.

Sunday morning, defenceman Sydney Jordan scored a goal and picked up an assist in the Cougars 4-1 win.

Ava Keis, Marissa Nichol and Jocelyn Forrest tallied singles, while Casey Norris, Cassidy Mellot and Keis added assists.

goaltender Emilie Nichols played well in net to earn the win.

Saturday night, the Cougars outshot the Wildcats 28-21 as goaltender Kelsey Roberts made key saves to post the win.

Mellot scored a pair of goals, while Hunter Mosher, Nichol and Sage Desjardins added single markers. Jayden Malgunas and Grace Barlow each had two assists and Chantelle Beadman-Rolph, Jocelyn Forrest, Jordan, Nichol and Desjardins each had one assist.

The Wilcats scored with two seconds left in the first period on a power play.

In Friday's opening victory, Keis led the Cougar scoring with a hat trick and Mosher and Mellot each had a pair of goals. Taylor Beck and Madison Fjellstrom notched single goals. Desjardins, Forrest, Nichol, Jordan and Fjellstrom each had two assists and Victoria Johnston and Beck each had an assist.

The Wildcats scored two late third-period goals to spoil the shutout bid by Cougar goalie Nichols who was solid between the pipes.

The Cougars still have three league games remaining against the Fraser Valley Phantom on Jan. 30 to Feb. 1.
