One win, one loss and a tie.
The Northland Dodge female midget triple-A Northern Cougars picked up one of each on the road last weekend in Surrey.
The bad news came first Saturday morning in a 2-0 loss to the Kootenay Wildcats, that despite outshooting their opponents 36-9. Later that day, the Northern Cougars tied the North Coast Avalanche 2-2 while winning the shot clock battle 34-12.
On Sunday, the Cougars got back into the win column, defeating the Vancouver Island Hurricanes 3-1 in an evenly-played game iced by an empty-net goal in the final minute.
The Cougars are a regional team made up of seven Prince George players, three from Williams Lake and Chetwynd, two from Quesnel and one from each of Kitimat, Smithers, Houston and Fort St. John.
The Cougars (3-1-2) currently rank third in the six-team league. Their next games are set for Oct. 25-26 in Prince George when they host the first-place Fraser Valley Phamtom in a three-game set at Kin 2.
