The kids are alright.

They're also champions of the Spruce City Men's Fastball Association.

Made up mostly of junior-aged (under-21) ball players, the guys from Falcon Contracting celebrated their first SCMFA championship Wednesday after a 4-2 win over the Superior Fencing Giants at Spruce City Stadium to clinch the best-of-three series 2-1.

"It was one of those games where we got timely hitting and they basically put the bat on the ball better than the first two games," said Falcon pitcher Chad Ghostkeeper, who also pitched a 5-4 win for Falcon on Tuesday and went the distance in a 7-2 loss on Monday.

Ghostkeeper allowed just two hits in Game 3 and collected 11 strikeouts with six walks in a complete seven-inning victory.

Randy Potskin delivered a two-run home run to put Falcon ahead 4-0 heading into the fourth inning.

Kyle Garnot cut the lead in half with a two-run blast over the fence in the bottom of the sixth inning. Garnot collected both hits for the Giants.

"It was more of a pitchers' game, the odd hit here and there," the 44-year-old Ghostkeeper said. "They've been facing me for 15 years so they should be able to figure me out sooner or later. It was good for the kids, with guys working or out of town we had the same nine guys all three games."

Shelby Tom got Falcon on the scoreboard in the second inning with an RBI double. Tom went 2-for-3 at the plate. Tyson Ghostkeeper singled in the second Falcon run in the third inning.

The other members of the Falcon champions are: Theo Potskin, Clint Sam, Clayton Hapke, Lane Desjarlais and midget call-up Jericho Prince.
