Eight teams entered in bantam tournament

This weekend, it's time for the local bantam double-A team to take a turn at keeping the Kin Centre hopping.

The Prince George Integris Cougars play host to an eight-team rep hockey tournament, featuring Dawson Creek, Williams Lake, Kelowna-based Pursuit of Excellence, Grande Prairie, Fort St. John and Kitimat. The event, sponsored by Turcotte Stickhandling Hockey School, begins Friday and ends with Sunday's final, slated for a 10:30 a.m. start.

The local Tier 2 bantam team is coached by Greg Pocock, Todd Stephen, Shane Williamson and Norm Brown, and the Cougars will play their first game at 10:15 a.m. on Friday at Kin 1 against Grande Prairie. At 7 p.m. that night, Prince George faces off with Kitimiat, also at Kin 1.

Members of the team are goaltenders Mitchell Profeit and Lindsay Loring, defencemen Zachary Schlitt, Ryan Hurrie, Colton Poulin, Carson Stephen, Jordan Low, Fletcher Scobie, Nathan Powar and Tre Potskin, along with forwards Nicholas Headrick, Donovan Law, Eric Woelski, Derek Bulmer, Blair Scott, Logan Styler, Braiden Epp, Lucas Ens and captain Thane Anderson.
