The Cedars Christian School Eagles are in position to shoot for their school's second B.C. championship in senior girls basketball.
The Eagles advanced to this year's single-A provincial tournament by achieving perfection at zones on the weekend. In Saturday's final at the Northern Sport Centre, they beat the Valemount Timber Wolves 58-43.
Earlier in the nine-team playdown, the Eagles defeated the McBride Mustangs 89-36 and downed the Fraser Lake Cougars 57-25.
Provincials, which will bring together 16 teams, are March 3-6 in Fernie. The Cedars senior girls won the tournament in the 1998-99 season. This year's team is currently ranked sixth in B.C. but has been as high as No. 3.
