The Cedars Christian Eagles advanced to the semifinal of the B.C. single-A girls high school basketball provincial championship Friday in Lumby.
Results weren't available at press time from the game that pitted the No. 3-ranked Eagles against the No. 2-ranked Kelowna Christian.
The winner of the game advances to play the winner between No. 5-ranked Similkameen and No. 1 seed Immaculata from Kelowna.
The Eagles beat Unity Christian of Chilliwack 60-46 Thursday night. Pudlas shot a game-high 26 points while Alanna Hedges and Shannon Kragt collected 11 and 10 points respectively.
At the double-A girls championship, also in Langley, the Duchess Park Condors lost their second game of the tournament Friday 72-64 to York House of Vancouver. The Condors will play seventh place today at 10 a.m. against Sahali of Kamloops.
The D.P. Todd Trojans were edged 82-81 by Delview of Delta Friday afternoon at the boys double-A championship.
The Trojans were ranked sixth going into the 16-team tournament but lost their first two games to St. Thomas Aquinas and Pacific Academy. The best the Trojans can finish now is 15th. That will be determined today at 1:15 p.m. when they face the loser of Friday's Notre Dame (Vancouver)-Golden playoff.
The Prince George Polars remained winless at the triple-A girls tournament in Langley, falling 62-38 to Caledonia of Terrace. The Polars (0-3) will take on Mount Baker of Cranbrook today at 1 p.m. for 15th place.
At the single-A provincial playoffs in Langley, the Tumbler Ridge Kodiaks dropped a 53-50 decision to Fernie on Friday and will play Pemberton for 15th place today at 3:15 p.m
