Emily Dickson, a member of the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club, has qualified for the youth/junior world biathlon championships for the second year in a row.

Dickson was at a qualifying event that wrapped up Sunday in Brookvale, P.E.I., and overcame a slow start to grab a spot on Team Canada for worlds.

"After a couple of frustrating races in the last few days, I managed to pull my shooting back together for the final race of Trials today," she said Sunday on her Facebook page. "It was enough today to secure me a spot on the team...."

Official results were not posted online and Dickson could not be reached for comment.

The world championships start today in Maine and will run through March 7.

At last year's worlds, held in Austria, Dickson was a first-time participant. Her top result was a 54th-place finish in a 10-kilometre women's individual race.
