Dandeneau waiting for knee surgery

As one of the best college basketball players in B.C., Kady Dandeneau doesn't spend a lot of time just sitting around and waiting for things to happen. But, right now, that's exactly what she's doing.

Dandeneau, a 20-year-old scoring machine for the UNBC Northern Timberwolves women's team, is awaiting surgery on her left knee. She has been diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament, meniscus damage and a strained medial collateral ligament. The ACL and meniscus problems can only be repaired through surgery, while the MCL is expected to heal on its own.

"We are now in the process of trying to find a surgeon that will do her surgery without having to wait a million years," UNBC head coach Loralyn Murdoch said on Wednesday.
