Junior national team members Haley Black and Danica Ludlow made a real splash at the North American Challenge Cup.

At the international swim meet, held in Edmonton on the weekend, Black won three of her events and Ludlow stroked to victory in two. Both athletes train with the Prince George Barracudas.

Black finished first in the 100-metre butterfly, 200m butterfly and 100m backstroke. Ludlow was just as sharp, with top results in the 400m freestyle and 800m freestyle. In the 800 free, her time of nine minutes 2.42 seconds was a new Barracudas record.

Black also placed second in the 200m individual medley (new club record of 2:21.94) and Ludlow was third in the 200m freestyle.

Team Canada won this year's Challenge Cup, which was also attended by swimmers from the U.S. and Mexico.
