Coyotes check out Connolly

As the National Hockey League draft gets closer, things are heating up for Brett Connolly. Quite literally. Connolly, an 18-year-old forward for his hometown Prince George Cougars, was in Phoenix on Friday for meetings with the NHL's Coyotes.

As the National Hockey League draft gets closer, things are heating up for Brett Connolly.

Quite literally.

Connolly, an 18-year-old forward for his hometown Prince George Cougars, was in Phoenix on Friday for meetings with the NHL's Coyotes. While he was there, the daytime temperature was 105 F.

That's almost 41 C for a Canadian boy.

Either way, it was cooking.

The Arizona desert may not be your typical hockey environment, but Connolly can envision himself playing there.

"That would be a great spot," he said. "They recently got new coaches and new management and they're definitely a team that's on the rise so Phoenix would definitely be a good spot."
