Cougars will be tuned to Olympics opening ceremony

The National Hockey League schedule will be interrupted to allow for the Olympics. No such luxury exists in the Western Hockey League.

The National Hockey League schedule will be interrupted to allow for the Olympics.

No such luxury exists in the Western Hockey League.

The show goes on as usual in the 'Dub and for the Prince George Cougars, that means a Friday night encounter at CN Centre with the Portland Winterhawks. The first of a two-game set with Portland conflicts with live TV coverage of the Winter Olympics opening ceremonies in Vancouver.

But don't despair Cougar fans. The team realizes the importance of the festivities going on Friday at GM Place and whenever possible will show that to the crowd.
