The Cariboo Cougars wrapped up the Mac's AAA Midget World Invitational hockey tournament with a fourth straight loss on Monday morning in Calgary.
Colton Thomas had the lone goal for the Cougars in a 7-1 defeat against the Calgary Flames, one of the host teams at the annual event. The Cougars' 0-4-0 record means the team will not qualify for the playoffs.
Thomas' goal came late in the first period to even the score at 1-1, with Jesse Roach and Steven Jandric picking up the helpers. But the Flames scored six unanswered goals to skate away with their first win of the tournament.
Jeremy Matte and Lane Delfs split the goaltending duties for the Cougars, with Matte making nine saves on 14 shots and Delfs stopping 13 of the 15 shots he faced.
