Cougars trade for defenceman

Ross Stanley will wear number 5 and join the Cougars on their current road trip, which continues tonight in Kennewick, WA, when they face off against the Tri-City Americans.

The Prince George Cougars bolstered their blue line Thursday with the acquisition of 18-year-old defenceman Ross Stanley from the Lethbridge Hurricanes in exchange for a sixth-round pick in 2024.

Stanley was drafted by the Edmonton Oil Kings in the second round, 40th overall, in the WHL Prospects Draft. The product of Edson, AB, has four points (0G-4A) in 17 games with Lethbridge this season. Stanley has suited up in 62 WHL games with the Lethbridge Hurricanes, Prince Albert Raiders, and Edmonton Oil Kings.
