Hockey action is only 70 days away for fans of the Prince George Cougars.
The Western Hockey League announced its preseason schedule of 60 games from Aug. 28 to Sept. 16 with the Cougars playing six games, including three at CN Centre.
The first two games for the Cougars are in St. Albert, Alta., as they participate in the sixth annual Edmonton Oil Kings tournament. On Sept. 1 the Cats will face off against the Red Deer Rebels and on Sept. 2 they'll play the another Central Division opponent in the Medicine Hat Tigers. Both games are at 10 a.m. PST.
On Sept. 7-8 the Oil Kings visit Prince George for a pair of games, with a start time of 7 p.m. The Cougars conclude the preseason with a home-and-home series with their B.C. Division rivals, the Kamloops Blazers. The Cats travel to Kamloops for a Friday game Sept. 14 and then the teams conclude the preseason at CN Centre Sept. 15. The puck drops both nights at 7 p.m.
The WHL regular-season schedule will be released Wednesday.
