Cougars winger Terik Parascak has been selected as the WHL's rookie of the week for the sixth time this season.

Terik Parascak is going to need a new mantlepiece.

The 17-year-old Prince George Cougars right winger  is this week’s winner of the Western Hockey League’s Kal Tire rookie of the week award.

The five-foot—11, 179-pound native of Lethbridge collected three assists in three games against the Kelowna Rockets.

Parascak drew the secondary assist on Ondrej Becher’s game-tying power-play goal in Game 3, which ended in a 4-3 overtime win to give the Cougars a 3-0 series lead. He also helped set two goals in Friday’s 6-3 series-clinching win in Game 5 at CN Centre.

He now has five goals and seven assists for 12 points in nine playoff games.

He's the 15th-ranked North American skater in NHL Central Scouting's final rankings of draft-eligible players.

It’s the sixth time this season Parascak has won the award and twice, in September/October and December, he was the WHL rookie of the month.

The Cougars host the Portland Winterhawks this weekend in the Western Conference final Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 6 p.m. at CN Centre.

Both games are sold out but there will likely be a few tickets released to the public for sale on Friday that had been reserved for the Winterhawks and their family and friends.

Check the Tickets North website or the CN Centre box office.
