The Prince George Cougars continue their home stand tonight as they host the Kamloops Blazers for the first time this season. Tonight marks the second meeting of the nine-game season series.

Blazers’ Last Game: Blazers lost 3-2 to Moose Jaw Friday in Kamloops.
NEWS & NOTES:
Last Time Out: The Cougars went down 2-0 early in the opening period, but then rattled off five unanswered goals to propel them to their fourth straight victory, winning 5-2 over the Moose Jaw Warriors. Caden Brown had his first WHL multi-goal game, scoring twice, while Chase Wheatcroft, Riley Heidt, and Noah Boyko also found the back of the net. Ty Young collected his seventh win of the year, making 19 saves on 21 Moose Jaw shots.
In the Crease: Young has appeared in 11 games this season for the Cougars and he’s already surpassed his win total of six in the 2021-22 season. The Vancouver Canucks fifth-rounder in 2022 has won five of his last six starts.
Power-Play Production: No team has more power-play goals this season than the Prince George Cougars. The Cats have scored 30 times on the man advantage thus far in 2022-23. Entering tonight’s game, the Cougars have connected on the power play in nine straight games. Chase Wheatcroft has scored nine of those 30 power-play goals - tied for the league lead.
On the Other Side: Kamloops comes to town for just one game against the Cougars, before returning home for a date with Connor Bedard and the Regina Pats on Wednesday. The Memorial Cup hosts currently sit second in the BC division behind the Cougars with a 10-5-3-1 record. Offensively, Kamloops is led by Logan Stankoven who has amassed 32 points in just 15 games.
What Are They Wearing?: The Cougars are slated to wear their red uniforms tonight.
Chuck-A-Puck Night: In the second intermission, the Cougars will have their first chuck-a-puck of the season presented by United Way of Northern BC. The winner will get a super staycation prize that is valued at over $1000.
