The College Heights Cougars found themselves in tough company Thursday at the double-A girls provincial soccer championship in Kamloops.
The north central zone-champion Cougars lost both their games, 7-2 to Pitt Meadows and 5-2 to Collingwood of West Vancouver.
That means, for the Cougars to advance to the semifinal round, they will have to beat Mark Isfeld of Comox in their final pool-play game this morning at 9 and hope Pitt Meadows defeats Collingwood. That would leave a three-way tie for second place and the team with best goal differential would advance.
The top two teams in each pool at the 16-team tournament move on to the playoff round. Medal finals and placement games will be played on Saturday.
