Cougars acquire d-man

In a swap of 17-year-old defencemen, Jordan Harris and Zack Gonek have switched their Western Hockey League addresses. On Wednesday the Prince George Cougars announced they dealt Harris to the Swift Current Broncos for Zack Gonek.

On Wednesday the Prince George Cougars announced they dealt Harris to the Swift Current Broncos for Zack Gonek.

Picked 13th overall by the Broncos right after the Cougars chose Harris with the 10th overall selection in the 2005 WHL bantam draft, the six-foot-one 193-pound Gonek played 24 games last season for his hometown St. Albert Raiders triple-A midget team, where he collected three goals and four assists as well as 30 penalty minutes.

The six-foot-one, 170-pound Harris is a Saskatchewan native from Prince Albert who joined the Cougars after Christmas last season. He suited up for 17 games on the Cats' blueline, picking up five assists and six minutes of penalty time.

n In a bid to get more people out to see the team play this season at CN Centre, the Cougars are have launched a ticket referral incentive program that will reward fans who have season tickets with a $50 rebate for every new adult season ticket holder they bring to the team.

To qualify for the program, ticket holders are asked to inform Ticketmaster and point out the referral and that account will be credited $50.
