Barbie Conway captured the silver medal at a national golf championship last weekend in Hamilton.
The Prince George resident was representing Special Olympics British Columbia at the Sept. 28-29 competition where she finished in second place in the women's second division with a score of 72. The athletes played one nine-hole round of gold on the par 36 course each day. On the first day the athletes scores determined what division they would compete in on the second day.
There were 54 Special Olympics athletes from across Canada competing in the tournament.
In addition to golf, Conway also takes part in cross-country skiing, swimming and track and field. She was selected to represented B.C. at the golf championship based on her result at a regional tournament last June in 100 Mile House.
