The Duchess Park Condors began their quest for a provincial double-A girls basketball title in Langley on a winning note. Nicola Erricson provided 23 points of scoring punch to drive the Condors to victory, while Carly Frenkel hit for 11 points and Marcie Schlick had 10.

At the single-A girls provincial tournament in Lumby, Hannah Pudlas scored 23 points and Shannon Kragt chipped in 18 points to lead the Cedars Christian Eagles to a 91-54 win over Lumby to open the tournament. On Thursday, No. 3-ranked Cedars took on Unity Christian and was leading 37-29 in the third quarter.
At the triple-A girls championship in Langley, the Prince George Polars lost their second game of the tournament 73-51 to Burnaby South on Thursday. PGSS opened with a 99-39 loss to second-ranked Brookswood on Wednesday. Issy Bourque led PGSS in that game with 13 points and 11 rebounds. PGSS faces Caledonia of Terrace today at 10 a.m.
At the double-A boys tournament in Langley, the sixth-seeded D.P. Todd Trojans lost 71-66 on Thursday to 14th-ranked Pacific Academy. That dropped the Trojans' record to 0-2, having lost their opener 85-73 to 11th-seeded St. Thomas. D.P. Todd will take on No. 15 Delview today at 3:30.
The 16th-seeded Tumbler Ridge Kodiaks also dropped to 0-2 after an 87-40 loss to Maple Ridge Academy on Thursday at the single-A boys B.C. championship in Langley. The Kodiaks opened with an 80-24 loss to West Point Gray Academy.
