The Duchess Park Condors finished 13th out of 16 teams at the double-A boys high school soccer provincial championship.
While their record of one win a tie and three losses was not good enough to carry the Condors into the medal round, they can take pride in the fact they were close in every game on the field this week in Burnaby.
The Condors' season ended Wednesday with a 4-3 overtime loss to the Highland Raiders of Comox. That came a day after they wrapped up round-robin play with a 3-2 loss to the Brookswood Bobcats. The Condors also tied the Mark Isfeld Ice of Courtenay 2-2 on Tuesday.
In opening-day results Monday, Duchess Park beat the R.A. McMath Wildcats of Richmond 3-1, after a 2-0 loss to the Alpha Aztecs of Burnaby.
In Wednesday's medal games, the Okanagan Mission Huskies blanked the Sa-Hali Sabres of Kamloops 2-0 for gold. The John Oliver Jokers defeated McMath 3-2 in overtime for bronze.
