The girls team, with skip Diamond Wilson, Alyssa Connell, Bailey Eberherr, Sadie Drummond and Erin Ross, is ranked seventh out of eight teams.

The Cougars will compete against high school rinks from Ballenas (Parksville), Saint Thomas More Collegiate (Vancouver/North Shore), Seaquam (North Delta), Chilliwack, Prince Charles secondary (east and west Kootenay), Salmon Arm, and Mount Elizabeth (Kitimat) in a round-robin format.

Coached by Lisa Bailey, the College Heights rink won the zone championship with a 3-1 record against teams from Fraser Lake, Fort Nelson and Dawson Creek.

Wilson’s team isn’t the only Prince George rink competing at provincials this week.

Bill Lim and his team from the Prince George Golf and Curling Club are in Creston at the B.C. Master Men’s championship that begins today. Lim’s rink includes third Owen Matheson, second Don Martin, lead Clarence Wigmore and fifth Rick Mintz.

The event is an eight-team round robin and includes teams from Esquimalt, Kelowna, Victoria, Golden Ears, Abbotsford, and Sparwood.

Lim takes to the sheet today against Ronald Danderfer from Esquimalt at 2:30 p.m.

Semifinals are set for Saturday at noon, with the final at 4 p.m.
