Three tournaments. Three championships.

That's the way the 2015-16 season has played out so far for the Coast Inn of the North midget Tier 1 Cougars.

The Cougars won their third straight tournament title on the weekend in Abbotsford, thumping the North Shore Winter Club 10-1 in the final.

James Gordon and Darian Long each tallied a pair of goals, while Dylan Krahn, Brandon Sande, Craig MacDonald, Jarin Sutton and Brevin Gervais added singles.

They were helped by goaltender Marcus Allen, who shut the door and earned the victory in net.

The Cats scored 38 goals and only allowed four against in five tournament games.

They reached Sunday's championship final with a dominant 11-1 victory against Mission in the semifinal.

They went undefeated in three round-robin contests, securing victories against the North Vancouver Storm (4-2), Abbotsford (7-0) and Port Coquitlam (6-0).

The Cougars are taking a break from tournament play this weekend and instead will travel to Kelowna and Kamloops for a pair of league games in the Okanagan Mainline Amateur Hockey Association Tier 1 midget league.
